Robinette's Apple Orchard Field Trip with Cam

When I heard that Camryn's first field trip this year was going to be in October to an apple orchard, I couldn't wait to join her and help chaperone!

We have never been to Robinette's, which is a bit further in Grand Rapids, but it was a beautiful orchard, with lots of fun things for the kids to see and do.

The chaperones drove separate, so when her class bus arrived, it was fun to get to meet her up there - although she said that the bus ride seemed kind of long. :)

We got to go on a wagon ride to see the orchard.

Went through a corn maze with funny little signs throughout that had "corn-undrums" for the kids to figure out.

The kids got to see how apple cider is made. Camryn helped put an apple into the apple press.

Part of the tour took us into a huge refrigerator with thousands of apples

I think the kids favorite part was the apple cider and donuts at the end, though. :)

Her class ate lunch at the orchard, played a bit, and then they headed back to school.

It was so fun to get to spend the extra time with Camryn, to go on her first field trip, and get to meet some of her kindergarten friends!

Crane's Apple Picking 2017

Our visit to Crane's was a few weeks later than normal this year. It was incredibly hot a couple weekends in a row, so we waited for it to cool down a bit before we went apple picking. Unfortunately, we missed the honey crisp apples this year, but still got a lot of tasty Empire, Jonagold's, and Fuji.

September Randoms

September wrap up!

I got this text message the second week of school...

And had front row parking for a week! :) (I can see the spot from my classroom window. :))

Taylor had a 2nd grade science night with lots of hands on activities. The students were from GVSU, starting the same program that I graduated with when I went back to school for my education degree. :)

Soccer night with Cam - looking all cute!

And she was the only girl that showed up to practice. :)

Jill and I sporting our new "Kindergarten Tribe" t-shirts. This was during the REALLY hot stretch in September, and everyone, including our principal, was wearing shorts!

Before bed one night...the girls looking oh-so-ready for sleep. ;)

Taylor surprised me by organizing her own closet!!  Loved it!

Evening bike ride :)

I went out to dinner with seven girls that I used to swim with at Hope College - a little reunion of sorts! I hadn't seen some of those friends in almost 14 years! It was great to catch up on where life has taken all of us since our college days. :)

Ryan and I got to see a talent show, put on by Taylor, Camryn and the Peeps. :)

Picture day for the girls meant new haircuts and cute outfits!
Before

After

I got a new double under PR with my favorite, favorite jump rope - 220 unbroken! :)

The girls dressed themselves one day - looking all kinds of cute in their tutu's.

September was a HOT month - hoping fall weather sets in for good in October!
