April 2020 - the Pandemic Continues

April was when we were supposed to get back to school. We were supposed to see if things could open back up, but then on April 2, and executive order came from Governor Whitmer that changed all that.

In short, we found out that school was going to be closed for the duration of the school year, and to the best of our ability, we were going to move to remote learning with our students. Hamilton made plans to use Google Classroom for our kids - which required a lot of learning on my part! Zeeland had a weekly schedule that was suggested for each grade level. April was busy, in a different kind of way. I was limited with being able to go into school much at all, and Ryan settled in to work from home for a while!

The girls had school work they worked on each day

More creative Art Hub art time, too

Mem's birthday was April 16, and the girls and I made a bunch of cards for her to open on her birthday :D

Bike rides

Masks started becoming a regular part of our outings when we had to go in stores. At first it was really strange to see people wearing masks.

Slow mornings with breakfast together

Lots of walks!

A neighborhood outdoor cat, named George, starting coming around our house in March. He is a very snuggly, sweet cat, who loves a lap to sleep on!

We would rarely go a day without seeing George!

This was my "office" set up in our bedroom, where I would record lessons, do Zoom meetings with my class, and work on the students weekly lesson plans. I completed a week's worth of work at a time, and would have the plans ready to go each Monday for students.

Camryn helped me record some silly videos for students - we did this one on April 25. ; - )

Easter egg decorating

Easter definitely was different this year - church via livestream, and no other plans

If life couldn't feel strange enough - we had HUGE hail one evening!

I led Crossfit Kids Zoom workouts twice a week, and Camryn helped me out sometimes! :)

So many sheeps!

Camryn helped build a new shelf for her room

We moved the fire pit, and had to try it out in our new spot :)

Warm enough for sprinklers!
