Our fascinating fifteen month old
There are so many things that happen of over the course of the month that make me think, "I should write that down!" And of course I don't, so I don't remember all the quirky or funny things that Taylor does, but I at least try to capture a bit of our little growing toddler at each of these fun stages with these posts.
What Taylor is like as a 15 month old...
* Strong-willed, silly, loving, perceptive, talkative, and a total joy :o)
* Wearing size 3 diapers, and 18 month-2T clothing
* Getting taller, but leaning out! Taylor was 20lbs 3.5oz at her year appointment. Last week we had to go to the doctor because Taylor had an infection in the tissue around her eye :( and when they weighed her she was 20lbs 4.5oz! A one ounce difference from 3 months ago!!
* There are 6 teeth now! 2 on top, 4 on the bottom
* Open to trying a lot more food recently, current favorites include blackberries (she LOVES these), bananas, pears and apples, pumpkin oatmeal with chia seeds (we share a bowl before school in the morning), waffles, ravioli, cheese, yogurt, cereal bars, peas, green beans, carrots, and bread. Farmer's market starts this week, and I can't wait to go and buy fresh/local, seasonal veggies and fruit!!
* Starting to sign "more" more frequently - now just trying to pair it with "please" as well :o)
* A big fan of her blanket - when she is tired and we lay her in her crib, she will grab her blanket and snuggle it right by her face
* Ryan and I are still often referred to as "baba" instead of mama or dada, she also says "baw", "hi", "wow", and "all done"
* Taylor has finally gotten used to wearing shoes now, and we have only had skinned knees once from playing outside
* Looking through books with Taylor is one of my favorite things to do now - she will pick which book she wants to look at, and point and chatter at the pages over and over... she is getting better at pointing to things when we ask her to find them on a page
* The toy of the month has to be her new farmhouse toy by Leap Frog - you can make different animal combinations, it plays songs, is magnetic so it can go on the fridge, but has a handle so she can carry it around the house while dancing to the songs...a favorite for sure!!
* Taylor sleeps GREAT! She takes only ONE nap a day during the week (she graduated to the "Wobbler room" at daycare, and they are just busy, busy in the morning!) and usually two on the weekends, and sleeping at night is still really good - down between 6:30-7:00pm, and up around 7-7:30am.
* As I mentioned above, Taylor moved out of the "baby" room at daycare, and I think she really enjoys the new big-kid room she gets to play in now! They have fun with music, play outside, get to have fun in the art room, each week has a different theme that stations are centered around, eat a yummy snack and lunch together - she's growing up! I LOVE the little crafts that get sent home - too cute!!
* The strong-willed toddler side of her definitely comes out sometimes. Crying and flopping on the floor when she doesn't get what she wants happens daily. She is also into throwing her head forward (usually head-butting me) and arching her whole body when she doesn't want me to carry her somewhere (like to go change her diaper or when we have to leave a store :))
* It HAS become fun to take her shopping, as long as there is no time constraint or real agenda...she could wander around aisles for the longest time, and also finds game of chase quite amusing
* I love to see how her language reception is growing - she is really starting to understand what we are saying and can follow directions more often when we ask her something
Whew - there is so much more that I could write - but that is just a glimpse into life with our little lady!
And of course no post is complete without pictures. :o)
A few more from Tulip Time, passed along by my friend (thanks, Sarah!!)
This is the face that Taylor gives to people she is not quite sure about... :o) shy and a little concerned
Strutting her stuff
Amazed by the seeds that blow away so easily (don't mind the crazy post-nap hair :o))
So many curls!
Playing with her favorite toy
Snack after naptime - blankie came along
Munching on some blackberries
16 days until summer break and getting to spend LOTS of time with this little cutie!!

Walks
I like walking with these two people
Sporting our tees to our favorite place :o) (this was taken earlier this week and her left eye is still a little puffy...poor little lady)
Taking a turn with daddy...
Happy for warmer weather, which equals more walks with these two! <3

Tulip Time 2011
(warning: lots and lots of pictures :) I had a hard time being selective!)
This was a year ago...
And this was today...
I love looking at how much she has changed, and while it seems like it is all going so fast, I love all the changes! Last year she was just a snuggly little baby, and now she is an adventurous, on the go toddler!
Of course we had to reenact some of the pictures from last year with her buddy, Brady. Although two mobile toddlers made it a little more tricky this time around! Taylor was also having an off day, and it took both paci and and her blanket to keep her content for most of the time! She's our little "Linus" from Peanuts. :-)
(Telling each other secrets :-))
Last year's picture
Trying to get a picture together this year - the best I could get!
Storm drain covers can be quite interesting
Checking out the water and fountains in the park
She loves, loves, loves this blanket
"You're not going to try to take my blanket from me, are you?"
Throw it on the ground, pick it up, repeat many, many times... :o)
Checking out the tulips
Moms and babies
Moms and toddlers!!
Finally a picture with all of us...
Taylor's favorite place to ride :-)
Checking out the fountains downtown
The weather was gorgeous - pleasantly cool after a few days of muggy, HOT, summer-like weather, and it was a fun night out! Next year, Taylor will still be sporting the jeans and white tee (our favorite, very much non-dutch, costume :o)), but that will probably be the only thing the same! I can only imagine what Taylor will be like a year from now!
