It was a great weekend of weather this year for our Memorial Day trip!
Packed up and ready to go
We got there later Friday evening, and decided to try a first this year - the girls slept in the bunk room together. Taylor wanted the top bunk, which we were surprised about (there is another bed in the room at normal height), but she did great getting up and down the ladder! There was lots of giggling and talking, but eventually they fell asleep. :)
Up early with the sunrise
And the girls were up early, too, on Saturday morning. So while the rest of the cottage slept in, I took the girls into town to eat a little tasty treat and play on the playground until 8:30 when we figured people would be awake. :)
The girls wanted their suits on right away when we got back, and wanted to play in the water!
Notice that I am wearing pretty warm clothes still! :)
Heading out on boat ride to Charlevoix
They LOVED looking back at the wake the boat made. :)
In Round Lake
We ate out for an early 'birthday' dinner for me at Red Mesa that night.
My grandparents surprised me with a cake afterward. They also didn't realize that they had bought trick candles for the cake, and we had a really hard time getting them to go out! It was kind of funny!
That evening, Papa read some stories about Brer Bear. Brer Fox, and Brer Rabbit, that he used to read to my cousins and I when we were little. :)
Sunday we went out on the boat again, only never made it to Charlevoix this time. Unfortunately, the boat had an issue and after a couple hour wait for the tow boat we had to get taken to the launch ramp. Bummer. But the girls did really well.... but we were all ready to get back to the cottage!!
Cam was exhausted on our drive back to the cottage. :)
Overall, it was a fun weekend!!

Catching up on May (including Tulip time)
This kid really looks like a three year old.
Loves helping in the kitchen
And being girly with painted fingernails
And finding flowers
And reading books in bed
And her lovies (she will take them anywhere)
This big kid is really good at puzzles - figuring out number puzzles I made for my Kindergarten students to use
She also loves imaginary play with her My Little Ponies
And blowing bubbles (with her little cousin, Annie :))
These two kids just like doing anything together
Including checking out a little toad for 45 minutes during one of Ryan's softball games
May also means Tulip Time in Holland!
Checking out the flowers
And the dancing
And the parade!!
(And, I ran across the street in the middle of the parade to get this picture with Bill Steffen, a weatherman from our local news station that I really like!)
And at the end of the month I turned another year older.... and my friends at CrossFit Lake Effect made a little note on the board for me when I came in to workout with the afternoon crew. :)
May was a good month, especially since summer break is always right around the corner!
