March 1st Snow Day!

We had our final (fingers crossed) snow day this school year on the first day of March. It was a busy day that I thought deserved a post all on its own. :)

When I got back from the gym, the girls and I talked about what to do for breakfast. We usually go to Big Apple Bagel together, but decided to just stay cozy in the house for a while. Camryn was complaining that her ear hurt really bad, and Taylor woke up with a headache, so staying in seemed good! We decided to make homemade donuts - pumpkin cinnamon glazed donuts. Yum. :-)

By the time they got around to eating the donuts, they were in full princess gear. :-)

As the morning progressed, Camryn was more and more uncomfortable. Little tears. :(

Late morning, I put on Winnie the Pooh for her and she snuggled down for a while.

I finally called the advice line nurse and we made an appointment to go in to the pediatrician. Sure enough, an ear infection. Cam is such a champ at the doctor, she knows the order of things that will happen - height, weight, take her temp, give her a 'hug' (blood pressure), and look in her ears.
The girls thought it would be fun to bring their own doctors stuff along. They were giving each other check-ups while we waited.

The little tube in her ear had started doing its job by the time we got to the appointment, so we were on our way home with just ear drops.

With the drops and some ibuprofen in her system, she was feeling better. We stopped by my school for a bit so I could work, but when we got home both girls really wanted to go sledding while I took care of the driveway.

(Don't mind the abundance of pictures here...it was fun to get some of their running shots as they went down the hill!

Mid air!

This next part cracks me up....she would often land on her sled, and slide down the hill a bit before face-planting in the snow...and then run back up the hill to do it again. :)

Taylor's turn!

Up in the air!

They played outside for almost two hours!!

 Love this one!!

It was a great snow day, and they kept me busy! I took a screen shot of my FitBit app at the end of the day....

so many steps, but so much fun. :-)

Visit with Uncle Jeff and Tess

My brother and niece made a visit to Holland at the end of February, and it was so great to see them and have a whole day to visit! Jen and Abbey were going to come as well, but Abbey was sick, and we were sad to miss visiting with them, too. :(

We first met up together at the place where my grandparents live for lunch. We don't get to see each other all that often, but it didn't take long for the cousins to get very comfortable with each other.

It took a bit to get our food, and by the time we got our meals, the girls started to get a little squirrely.
This picture cracked me up. Jeff was quite busy keeping lil Tess entertained. ;-)

They soon found entertainment in taking their plates of food under the table and pretending it was a fort.

So many giggles!

After lunch, Jeff visited more with Gaga and Papa, while we kidnapped sweet little Tess to come back to our house to play. Lots of excitement from the backseat.

Camryn and Tess changed into dresses right away. Cuties.

They brought a present for Taylor for her birthday.

A huge Inside Out blanket - it was the perfect gift!! (And Taylor usually has it near where she is playing in the house now. :-))

We got to spend lots of time visiting. I even gave all three girls a bath together - that was an adventure in the tub!

And right before leaving, all clean with PJ's on, Cam and Tess were having so much fun bouncing on Cam's bed.

There were little tears when Jeff and Tess had to leave, and we can't wait for our next visit!!

Camryn's Ballet Class

Camryn LOVES to DANCE! She loves dresses and tutus and can be quite theatrical. :-)

So...we signed her up for ballet! She is in a 50 minute ballet/tumbling class, where half is ballet, and half is more gymnastics.

We had to get her some specific things before her first class, and she was SO excited to put on her new ballet clothes!

Get ready for a lot of pictures, because I'm kind of in love with the little tutus and ballet slippers. :-)

Getting to walk into her first class....

They have ended each class with dancing with scarves, usually to a Disney Princess song, which Camryn loves :-)

Halfway through she switched to the tumbling room

On the balance beam
Little somersaults!

The next class, they did more twirling, which she loved!

Little leaps across the room

 So dramatic :-)

She is having so much fun, and these classes are the perfect fit for our little dancer!
