October...so far :)

I tried to come up with a creative title for this post, but the moments captured from October are hard to capture in one phrase! One thing I noticed is that a lot has occurred outside so far this month - I think we starting to remember how quickly winter started last year - and we have to take advantage of these fall days when we can go outside without needing to get bundled in our snow gear!

At the beginning of the month, Hamilton had its homecoming, and Kristen, Jill and I wore our hubby's football jerseys from high school.

Taylor is also doing lots at school, and comes home with BUNCHES of cute crafts and also adorable drawings like this - where we can start to see specific details. This is a picture of our family - me, Camryn, Taylor, and daddy. :)

Mem came for a visit to babysit for us while we went to a wedding for Ryan's cousin.

We were out at a very chilly reception! Chris, Liz, Ry and I all bundled in our coats. :)

A couple weekends ago we went up to Charlevoix for the Apple Fest - and actually made it this year! Both girls made it without getting car sick, which we were so thankful for.

Waking up to a sunrise on the lake - never a bad thing. :)

I get the sense that the girls think it is always summer up north, and so when we arrived and the dock was out, they were a little confused. All bundled up instead of in our suits.

Uncle Scott and I took a hike up Avalanche Mountain after dinner one night and got a couple pictures of the lake - I do love this place.

We have been spending time outside a lot - riding bikes after dinner....

And playing in the leaves.

We also went to a bonfire - and the girls liked the sparks from the fire and the stars in the sky the best. :)

I enjoyed getting to spend time with some Lake Effect friends, including Ashley and Katie, my teammates from the Gr Games!  :)

MORE outdoor fun when Taylor and I went to the Outdoor Discovery Center together at a school event...

And we took a hike out at Van Raalte farms after church last weekend. We had the trails all to ourselves and it was really pretty out there.

Hoping the weather continues to be nice enough to let us play outside, and especially for Halloween in just over a week! More October to come! 

September! :)

First month of school done. Fall is here. Lots of tidbits for our "family photo album" that I want to make sure to not get lost in my iphoto library! We've been busy now that we are back into the school and daycare routine, but it was a good month!

The weather in September was pretty great, and we make sure to take advantage to be outside whenever possible!

At the end of the month, we also hung out at Dutch Treat campground for their Halloween weekend. The girls picked pumpkins, which they thought was pretty fun.

They got to go on a wagon ride with cousin Annie

 

And a little trick-or-treating, too. (Camryn was terrified most of the time - she is not a fan of almost all kids in costumes. Maybe next year she will like it better. :))
