First haircut

Taylor had her first haircut today! Well, it was really just a little trim, but her hair was getting a little out of control, and needed a little TLC. :o)

She did really well sitting in the chair (with few things used for distraction so she would hold still)

A few "after" pictures while Taylor was eating dinner, not a huge difference, but now her bangs don't fall in her eyes and the back is more evened out (note: she is feeling MUCH better!)

(Side note: see those shoes on her feet? She pretty much refuses to walk when we put shoes on her, and resorts back to crawling. I was pretty anti-shoes for the first year for her, and now that she is walking, we need to get her used to having a little protection on those feet, and she doesn't have much interest in having to strut around in them!)

Things don't always go as planned...

Easter weekend - lots of fun plans, one sick little girl.

We had plans to head down to B.C. for the first part of the weekend to hang out with Grandma mem and Grandpa Randy, have a date night out with Ry, go swimming with Taylor at the pool, enjoy the SUNSHINE, then go to Easter service, and dinner with Ryan's family on Sunday.

Unfortunately, Taylor's tummy had other ideas. She was miserable and probably the sickest we have ever seen her...the car seat took the brunt of it on our drive to B.C. (the whole seat ended up being put in the bathtub).  We did make it to B. C., Ryan and I still had our date night out, and we still made it to dinner on Easter Sunday, but that was about it. Taylor didn't want to eat much, she didn't want to play, she mostly just wanted to sleep or be with mommy.  Poor little girl. :o(

BUT we still got a few pictures - just not too many smiley ones!

Easter egg hunt at my parents house, that she had little interest in...until she realized that one had yogurt melts hidden inside.  She ate them right up, and we were happy that she managed to keep them down. :-)

(By the way, did you know that we only have 8 months until Christmas? Just saying... :o))

April fun

 I am a first time mom, and therefore excited about pretty much EVERY little first with Taylor. I admit this fact, and am not ashamed of it.

One first this week that I was quite proud of was Taylor's first picture from "school"! :o) Taylor is transitioning to the wobbler room at daycare (she is outgrowing the baby room, which makes me feel a little sad, but also proud of our little lady) and they do all sorts of fun things! They play outside when it is nice, have music and dancing, centers, snack time, do art projects, and each week is designed around a theme. This week the theme was Easter and the color purple.

This was Taylor's first little craft that she brought home :o) And, yes, I hung it on the fridge.

(If you look closely, there is a note written on the side that says, "Taylor with Ty's help" :o) Ty is Taylor's best buddy at daycare, and apparently the two of them have quite the fun together!)

This week we also went to the Easter Extravaganza at our church - food, singing, and an Easter egg hunt!

14 months and more!

It was two years ago that Ryan and I decided to start thinking about expanding our little family of 2, and here we are two years later with a rambunctious little 14 month old! What fun each stage and age brings!

First, I just wanted to capture a bit of what Taylor is like at this point and then share a few fun pictures from this past week!

Taylor, at 14 months you are...

* Wearing size 12 month - 2T clothing, and size 3 diapers

* Sleeping great - out before 7pm, and up around 7am at night, and taking a short nap in the morning and a longer one in the afternoon

* Saying your first words! "baw" - ball, "dada", "bapa" (what you most often call me :o), silly girl)

* 4 teeth total - 2 on top, 2 on bottom

* Drinking only from a sippy cup now, no more bottles!

* Loving small cut veggies (finally!)

* Walking like crazy

* Great at giving hugs

* Starting to struggle a little more with separation anxiety - our time in church nursery has been a little rough the past few Sundays when mommy isn't working

* Loving books, books and more books - a current favorite is baby Einstein's "First Words" and a puppet book about a little fish

* A little ham sometimes, silly as can be, strong willed, a bit stubborn when you don't get your way, but mostly a little sweetheart who makes us smile and laugh every single day

And some pictures from the master's swimming state meet this weekend! My mom was competing (my dad is only 7 weeks out from his shoulder surgery, so he was a coach on the sidelines this year), AND it was her birthday, so we went as a birthday surprise and to cheer her on at the meet! It was a FUN morning, and it was great to give Taylor a little exposure to the excitement of a meet with lots of people, splashing and cheering!

We were not there long before Taylor decided that she REALLY wanted to get in the pool, and became very vocal about it. :o) Luckily, they had a nice and warm baby pool right next to the competition pool, so Taylor got her wish! She splashed around for a good half hour, and didn't want to get out. She's our little fish!

Tired eyes after a busy morning

That's all for this post, but on a separate side note - they are calling for snow tonight. We have a winter weather advisory for the middle of April (I think someone forgot to tell the weather people that it is no longer winter!).  Ha!

LOVING her veggies...

This girl loves her veggies, specifically peas, green beans and carrots...we just had to capture her at dinner this evening. :o)

After lunch today (side note, Taylor ate a massive amount of green beans today, almost half a can - she is definitely into veggies lately!) we headed outside! Don't mind her random outfit, there are a few warm weather staples that I realized that need to buy, so a little trip to Carter's may be in order this week! :o)
