Never in my career as a teacher have we had a full week called off from school, but from January 28-February 1, every day was called off because of snow or frigid temperatures, with windchills down to 25 below zero at the coldest point during the week! I did LOTS of snow blowing the driveway, we did some sledding (before it got too cold to even go outside), did lots of organizing in the house, and plenty of just downtime! :)
Sledding and hot chocolate
Night sledding with neighborhood friends
Lots of following Twitter to see what the thoughts would be for school the next day...
Big Breakfasts at home...that made quite the mess...
And, breakfast at Big Apple Bagel
Lunch is served :)
Lots of slime making
Surviving snow blowing... kind of :)
Thankful for a neighbors help!!
More snow
Picture making
Dinner out at Chik-fil-A with Tay while Cam had ballet
We thought that Hamilton might have school on the Friday of that week, but Zeeland called off the night before, so Tay and Cam were going to come to be my helpers. Camryn was SO excited to come to school with me!
She picked out just the right clothes, and laid them out that night. I ended up having a snow day as well, but I told them they could come help me another time!
I tried to make breakfast fun that morning by making shape pancakes. I need a little practice for sure! LOL!
We got out of the house a bit, though, and headed to Barnes and Nobles for some new journals. :)
The sunset on that Friday was beautiful...a seemingly end to the week long snow and cold event. :)

January...back to school! Kind of... :)
As we all got back to school after Christmas break, Camryn found out that she was going to be the first one in her class to get to take the class pet, Freddy the Frog, home for one night. She had to journal about what she did with Freddy, and then got to share it with her class the next day. :) Freddy was a very good guest, and Camryn really enjoyed having him around!
Camryn also had a special first grade donuts morning at school, that Ryan got to go be a part of!
We finally got some SNOW in January! Yay for sledding!
The girls came and helped me at school one Sunday....
Followed by a trip to Carters :)
And the next day was a SNOW DAY! (It was SO COLD! Gotta love breakfast at home. :))
The girls set the table for dinner that evening. :)
That same week, I got out of school to find my car ENCASED with ice. That was not fun to chip off!
By Friday, we had another snow day - which would be the start to a snow WEEK off of school!
Snuggles, sledding, and FaceTime with Mem. :)
Next up.... the week without school.....
