Cam is Three!

Cam Cam! You are THREE! Friday the 13th, three years ago, you came into this world and changed our family in such a wonderful way! Taylor became a big sister, and you stole our hearts right away. :)

Cam's favorites at three ~
Lambie, pink taggie, Doc McStuffins, watermelon, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (although it is always almond butter, but she doesn't know the difference :)), hugs, ketchup, riding her Minnie bike as fast as possible down the driveway, trying foods that I am eating, chapstick, chocolate, applesauce pouches, Winnie the Pooh, fingernail polish (this is a new like!), getting to put on my blush, playing with My Little Ponies with Taylor, Dora, singing along to songs from Frozen, clementines, carrying all of her lovies and blankets to the couch and making a big comfy mess :)

Loves that ketchup :)
 Helping out in the kitchen
 Sitting like mama
 Loves those lovies....
Wants to catch like daddy

Reading stories at night....a favorite

Cam's dislikes ~
Insects of any kind, being called a baby or little girl, using the potty, feeling like she can't do something that Taylor can do, being told what to do without being given a choice, feeling like she is being left behind, having it be too dark (when the sun used to set early before bedtime, she didn't like it when lights would be off in rooms that we weren't even playing in because it looked too dark)

Three things we LOVE about Camryn right now:
1. The way that she talks and how verbal she is, but then she is just this little three-year-old. She enunciates every word so well, and will ask what things are called, and repeat after us. The story I like to tell is that over Christmas we were visiting with my Uncle Drake, and he said that Camryn might grow up to be a radio host or announcer because she is so articulate. Then Cam looked at Drake, and clearly stated back to him "I am not articulate" - hitting every sound in the word perfectly. :) Made us all smile and laugh.

2. Hugs. Taylor is getting to be old enough now that she doesn't always ask for hugs or go for just cuddling on the couch anymore, but we are still in that stage with Cam. I love it when she asks for a hug, and I pick her up, and she wraps her arms around my neck, and her legs around my waist like a little monkey and holds on tight.

3. The way she will freely, without worrying about if we are watching her, dance and sing when familiar songs are on.... especially "Let it Go" from Frozen, and yes, she does love to try to sing along to "Hysteria" and "Pour some sugar on me" when we are in the car. :)

Three things we wish for Camryn in the next year:
1. That she is healthy. :) It was a pretty good year for her this last year, and we hope that her ear check appointments with Dr. V. continue to look good!  Her left tube actually looks like it is healing better now, and we are thankful for that!

2. Happiness. :) Lots of laughing and fun memories with her. And next fall she will be at Toddlerville without Taylor for the first time, and I hope that she does okay with that change. She has lots of little friends, and enjoys her teachers, so I am sure it will go well!

3. That she keeps asking for hugs.... every day :)

And these are Camryn's answers to what her favorite things are:
Favorite color: pink
Favorite movie: Pooh's Heffalump movie, 101 Dalmations, Frozen
Favorite TV show: Doc McStuffins
Favorite book: Elephant and Piggie books
Favorite food: peanut butter and jelly
Best friend: Addi

Love you bunches, Camryn Ann! :D

Cam's 3rd Birthday Party

We wanted to do Camryn's birthday party during Spring Break, and with all the other plans, it actually worked out best to have it on Easter.
Mem came early and went to Easter service with us

It was a beautiful day and we were able to grill out for food, and play outside after the party!

New books, new Frozen socks, a doctor kit....

Ryan got Cam her own baseball mitt :)
And we got her a plasma car because this girl loves to tear around on the driveway. :)

And this cute little bunny was around all the present opening... Annie looking awfully cute on Easter :)
Jon and Katie with their hands full, literally... the twins are getting so big!
All the grand-kids around Grandpa...a pretty typical scene! :)

Cam wanted a Doc McStuffins party, so she and Taylor played 'pin the bandaid'. They both peeked and put the bandaids exactly where they should go. :)

Cake time!

Cam putting on her new play earrings she got

Mem and Cam with their pretty earrings :)
Once the party had somewhat wrapped up, I told the girls they could finally play with the helium balloons. They were pretty excited. :)

(Check out Cam's pose in the background of this picture - when she had the new earrings on, she walked around with her little hands on her hips :))

Then we took the new toys for a spin - turned out Taylor loves the car more than Cam at this point (takes some skill to not spill off of it because of how fast it turns)

But this girl still loves speeding down the driveway on her Minnie bike, so she's a happy kid :)
It was a fun birthday celebrating our {almost} three year old!

Spring Break 2015: Part 2

Spring break continued! (Warning.... lots of pictures :))

Day 5: Tuesday
Tuesday morning the girls and I hung out at home and packed up for an overnight at Mem's house.
They were slightly excited to go and see Mem and Speedo. :)

The girls loved playing with the dollhouse that my grandpa made for me when I was little.
 Painting pictures in Mem's kitchen
This little kitty... love Mr. Speedo

We made pizza for dinner

And there are always lots of stories read when Mem is around.

Day 6: Wednesday
We woke up at Mem's house for more playtime, and then lunch out before heading home.

Day 7: Thursday
On Thursday, the girls actually went to Toddlerville for the morning while I went to school to work for a while.
After working at school, Tay helped me with some new number puzzles I was making for my students to use

Later that afternoon, Tay and Cam were SUPER excited when they found out Ty and Addi were going to come over for dinner and to play, while their mom and dad had a date night out. SO much giggling and silliness and running around....

Four little monkeys, jumping on the bed :)

Dinner

Play doh

Pretend sleepover on Cam's floor (can you spy two little girls? :))

Pretend beach (blue blanket is the water :))

After Ty and Addi left, it was baths and bedtime... the girls fell asleep pretty fast after stories after having their friends over :)

Day 8: Friday
We went to the butterfly gardens in GR with Ty and Addi on Friday morning. The weather was really cold and windy and rainy, so we couldn't go outside and play in the kids play area, but they still liked the butterflies!
One part that Tay and Cam were very excited about... riding in Ty and Addi's car :)

Checking out the all the different butterflies and chrysalises
Taylor loved checking out the butterflies in the book and finding them in the garden.

Taylor could have stayed for a lot longer just checking everything out. :) (Cam was slightly terrified of a butterfly landing on her)
Kristen and I took Ty and Taylor three years ago on spring break....a picture from 2012
And a picture of our crew this year! The group has grown...literally! :)

Day 9: Saturday
Ever since seeing Addi with nail polish on Thursday night, Cam just HAD to have her nails painted, too. So after my Meijer trip on Saturday morning, I bought her some purple polish, and she was SO excited. :)

And in the afternoon, it was beautiful and sunny... we spent the whole afternoon on the back deck. Wish we could have had more of this weather in Michigan over the past week!

And we checked out the new Pizza Ranch that just opened in town for dinner with Chris, Liz and Annie

Cool kid driving home :)

And then had some playtime with cousin Annie after dinner- gotta love bubbles!

And to wrap it up, Cam was excited about our first flowers!

It was a great spring break, and tomorrow we will spend time getting ready to go back to school and daycare, and also making birthday treats for Cam's friends at daycare because she officially turns THREE on Monday!!
