Spring Break - the second half!

The second half of spring break was highlighted by a couple of things - the girls first visit to Build-A-Bear, a birthday celebration for Cam's birthday (separate post to come!), and a visit to Mem's house!

With another cold, cold day, along with some lovely rain, I decided the girls and I needed to do something FUN together. I packed car snacks, and told them we were headed somewhere fun, but it would be a surprise.
They were super excited about going to the mall, and then were excited about getting to create their first Build-A-Bear!
Cam picked out a kitty, and Tay picked out a rainbow leopard.

Gotta love Cam's face :-)

After, we took a ride on the carousel with their new lovies

And stopped by Barnes and Nobles to spend some time in the children's department - one of our favorite places to hang out!

She loves actually READING "Elephant and Piggie" books now.... so fun!!

The next day, Mem came up for Camryn's birthday party, and on Friday we headed to Battle Creek with her to spend the night at the lake house!

We took some of Cam's new birthday toys

I attempted to get Cam to take a nap with me (I slept, she played next to me on the bed ;))

We went to a movie together (Zootopia - not Camryn's favorite!)

Of course, that night it snowed. Again. Boo.

The next day we had a yummy breakfast (Cam ate almost a whole container of raspberries)

Then, we made really cool stars out of paper! Each star had to have 14 decorated sheets of paper - and we made three of them - so 42 designed papers in all!

They weren't quite as easy to put together as the art teacher online made it look, but they still turned out pretty neat!

It was a nice week off together - and next year we will hope for WARMER weather!! :D

First half of Spring Break (brrr.)

Our usual Spring Break staycation was unusually cool. Cold. Actually snowy.

After our first day of break together, we woke up the next day to snow. In April.

So embrace it, right? That afternoon, I pulled out all the snow stuff that I cleaned and packed away, and we went outside. And tried sledding. And made snow castles with our buckets and shovels, pretending we were on a beach.

Monday morning, we decided that we needed to hit up Big Apple Bagel, the girls favorite spot to go when we have days off together. We sat by the fire together, because it was so cold, and the girls crushed some bagel and cream cheese.

Camryn was literally quite relaxed. :-)

I had a return to make at Home Goods, we went there afterward, and even though the girls had never been before, they certainly found stuff they wanted right away.

Dinner was homemade pizza one night - always fun :-)

And dance parties during princess movies happened, too.

And coloring happens on a regular basis, too.... more princess fun with our pictures!

Tuesday was the one nice day we had all week - slightly warm enough to be outside and no rain. The girls and I walked/biked to the Critter Barn. They loved the bunnies, and baby sheep....but spent most of their time in the kitty coral with all the cats. :-)

Second half of Spring Break, coming up!

Spring Break Day One!

Yesterday was the first day of spring break!

We went to the preschool swim time in the morning at the Aquatic Center - and the girls swam for over two hours! Taylor did NOT want to leave! :)

Taylor can play by these dumping buckets for a long time!!

If only we were on a beach!

After our busy morning, Cam and Tay were all about relaxing. :)

Cam took a really long nap...kept checking on her...sleepy head :)

We rode bikes to the school playground, but it was chilly, so it didn't last very long!
Dinner was a picnic while watching Aladdin. :-)

Yay for Spring Break!!
