the Lake

Yep, another post about another weekend up north! Usually in the spring we start to look at our summer calendar, mostly to figure out when/how much we can get up to the lake! To sum up this weekend - great company, great weather, and lots of fun outside!

The weekend in pics (when we remembered to take out the camera!)

Playing with her favorite sound puzzle

Running around at the driving range (no one was there :)), a perfect wide open space to play

Ball!!

It is amazing how many interesting things can be found in the grass :o)

"I've got something on my hands"

"Wipe it off for me, daddy!" (Taylor does NOT like stuff on her hands :))

Dinner out in Boyne City (I managed to catch everyone with food in their mouth...ha!)

This is what Taylor did while we ate...play, play, play

Trying out her new swing

And new chair

Showing great grandma Betty how to clap :o)

Ryan and I after a ride into Boyne

Waiting for grandpa Randy to arrive in the boat on Friday

Less than two weeks and we will be back again (with an even bigger crowd and hopefully hot weather!)!! Can't wait!

What a week!

This week has been a whirlwind! Last week I was attending a meeting about applying for unemployment. This week I have been packing up the classroom, finishing report cards and flying through the last 4 days of the school year. Friday, I finished packing, attended the end the year breakfast, checked out of my room and found out that I was getting called back to my same job (praise!!!), all the while prepping for a big gathering on Saturday as the Parker family descended on Holland! We hosted a lunch for everyone at the house to celebrate my grandparents move to Holland. Whew! Today it was just Taylor and I hanging out, and it was so nice to just RELAX. :) I feel like I am just starting to let it sink in that I don't have to worry about my job for next year, AND that summer break is finally here! Hooray!

Saturday was quite fun! Hosting is not my forte (ha!), but there was less pressure because it was all family. :o) We certainly had a packed house, and Taylor just spent most of the time chattering and roaming from room to room, weaving in and out of people, being her sweet self.

Playing with uncle Jeff in the pillow "fort"

Taylor got a little stroller from grandma mem, and has spent quite a bit of time pushing around her baby doll.

Other pictures from the weekend (having fun with my uncle's camera that he is letting us borrow as we consider buying an SLR)

Watching the fountains during a running break

Reading books

Eating berries

"Say cheese"

Playing outside!! (Yep, there's lots of these... :o))
