Rewind to April - Grandma Betty had a significant birthday, and turned 90 on April 27!
It was the perfect reason to have a family gathering in April, which is becoming an annual event.
Mem was there on Thursday evening for Fox Run's "Happy Hour". My grandma usually plays piano for the gathering! People have drinks, and some gather around the piano and sing while she plays. It is really fun to see, and my grandma is SUCH a good piano player!
My family arrived on a Friday, the whole group celebrated Friday afternoon, we hung out at a hotel for a night (which the girls always love because of the pool), and stayed and played for a bit Saturday before heading home.
Uncle Paul and Mary Margaret flew in from Santa Fe, Scott and Jude were there, Uncle Drake, Jeff's family, and our group of four, and of course Mem and G. Betty. :D
We spent some time in G. Betty's apartment first.
Paul and M&M always bring something cute for the girls - this time it was adorable giraffes, and a couple of picture books to go with it.
Waiting for Jeff's family to arrive - we headed outside for a bit :)
The girls taking a picture with Uncle Paul - he is quite the character.
We had a little more time before the "party" started, so we spent some more time in the apartment. Camryn had a dress she wanted to wear for the party, and changed before we headed to the banquet room. Mem also opened a birthday present from Jeff and Jen. :) And Taylor just enjoyed reading the Florida Shutterfly book that we made for Mem!
Cheers with new champagne glasses!
Time to get ready for the party! The kids and moms helped decorate the picture boards Mem put together for G. Betty. So fun to look at all those memories!
Food, fun, and presents!
Taylor helped read all the cards to G. Betty - it was so sweet!
My gift to G. Betty was actually something I wrote. I wanted to share my favorite memories of her and Grandpa Bob, and wanted to write out what she has meant to me as my grandma. :)
Later that evening, and the next morning - the kids were all about the pool!
We went back to visit with G. Betty and Jeff's family for a bit at Fox Run. The cousins were being silly before saying our goodbyes.
It was a great visit!!
