Murph

This was the third Memorial Day that I completed the workout called "Murph".

Description from CrossFit.com
"In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". From here on it will be referred to as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is."

1 mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 air squats
1 mile run

Wearing a weighted vest is a part of the workout if you have one and are up for the challenge. I wore a 14lb weight vest this year.

We have vests at the gym, but I brought one home to clean up myself a bit first. :)

I did it before the big group completed it at the gym, but there were a lot of people that showed up to complete the workout!

The worst part was the push-ups.  Hands down.

Finishing time

Hoping to continue to make this a tradition each Memorial Day weekend...
