Our sweet girl is NINE years old!
Taylor Leigh is getting close to being tall enough to wear x-small women's clothes. She is at the point where she can read almost anything you put in front of her. She knows how to make some of her own food - oatmeal, grilled cheese, hardly needs my help with baking, and will set her own spot at the table and build her own meal with protein, fruit and veggie (because she knows that is what I would do for her :)).
Taylor is a problem solver, she watches and learns from things that we do. She cruises fast on her bike, is becoming more confident on her (new) roller skates, and passes the swim test at pools with ease so she can go off the diving board and swim in the deep end.
Taylor is comfortable playing and being on her own. She will create the most imaginative scenarios with her Legos, Trolls, My Little Ponies, or dollhouse characters. She doesn't mind signing up for camp, even when she doesn't have a specific friend to sign up with, and can't wait to stay overnight, again, this summer at Camp Geneva.
Taylor has a strong will. She can be fiercely adamant about something she believes, and doesn't always like to hear when her ideas might be wrong. ;) I hope that this fiery spirit will carry through as she grows up, and has to navigate high school and college, and grows into an adult. I'm thankful for that strong will, even when it might be used or directed in the wrong way, because I want her to keep that inner strength, and know she will learn overtime how to cultivate it and use it in positive ways.

Wish I could freeze moments at this age. She will still give me hugs "just because". I hope that always happens. :)
On her actual birthday, she had a few more presents to open in the morning.
After church, she wanted to go swimming at the Aquatic center. :)
And, of course, cake, too! :D
