March came in like a LION!

Oh my - this first full week of March was a doozy, and it's not even over yet!

Monday started with three doctor appointments, then a half day of teaching, then parent-teacher conferences until after 7pm!
Camryn and Taylor both had appointments. Taylor's 3-year well-child appointment went really well. She was a great little patient, and is a very healthy, normal little girl according to the doc! She was 37 1/2 inches tall, and about 31 pounds (50th percentile for both for her age). She has grown a little over 3 inches, and gained about 5 pounds since her 2 year visit. Camryn's simple ear recheck (that I almost cancelled because we had seen Dr. S. only a week and a half prior, and he said her ears were clear) was not so simple. They identified another infection on the right (I have stopped counting how many infections that makes), and on the left there was more fluid as well as some spots on her eardrum, that they told us would require further looking at during surgery, and possibly a ct scan down the road.  

Tuesday morning started with a car that had a dead battery, and that same car was having issues with the car alarm, so that meant we not only got to drop off the girls to daycare with the alarm going off, but we had to squeeze in a drop-off at the service station (all with the alarm going off, mind you), and make it to work before the students arrived! Then parent-teacher conferences until after 8pm! Ryan brought the girls to come eat dinner with me, so I could see them all, and in the middle of it, Taylor got a really bad bloody nose (too much dry air, poor thing!), and it just undid her, so the visit was less happy than I had hoped! One of Taylor's favorite things is to go to "mama's school" :)) They did fix our vehicle, but it wasn't without a couple hundred $$ service bill. Needless to say by Wednesday I was ready for the weekend. :)

This morning we had Camryn's surgery to get tubes in both ears. We had a 6:45am check-in time. She was taken back for surgery around 7:15, the doctor came back to talk to me afterward around 7:35, and at about 7:45 they brought her back to us! We were home before 8:15!

The doctor said everything went well. He identified that the spots on her eardrum/middle ear are something called cholesterol granuloma, (caused by the frequent ear infections),  which he said is not something that we need to worry about at this point! She will just have these two white spots on her eardrum that shouldn't cause any issues.

It was a really fast, fairly easy procedure - and of course we had to take pics along the way... :o)

Our little girl became very happy, glassy-eyed, and smiley - a little video of our silly girl :o)

And afterward, I could hear Camryn start to cry when she woke up from her surgery, and then a few minutes later they came down the hall with one fussy, disoriented baby. :o) Luckily, once I snuggled her and fed her, she was actually not too cranky compared to what we were expecting.

Right now she is cashed out in her crib, and hopefully will be happy, playful Cam when she wakes up (although after this week, if all she wants to do is snuggle all day, I would be okay with that, too).

Hoping that after this week March goes out like a LAMB! :o)
