To give a little history, when I was a kid, the Peters, Robinsons, and Parkers had many adventures together. We would spend New Years together, go skiing, camping, boating, snowmobiling, and vacation together. We basically had a blast hanging out together. Each family had two kids - pretty close in age, which was fun. Janine created a slideshow of pictures that was really fun to see, and I just had to include some of them.
On New Years Eve in 1994, the parents created a "time capsule". A written list of predictions and thoughts about the future. It was mostly about us "kids", but it also had some general family and world predictions.
They designated the envelope to be opened on New Years Eve 2010, but we ended up not being able to get together as a group until this summer...just a few years late. :)
Not everyone was able to make it, but for those that were there, it was such a fun day of reminiscing and catching up with each other!
The "mom's" :) - Karen, Barb, and Janine
These three coordinated and planned LOTS fun memories for all of the kids over the years when we were little - now that I have my own family, I realize just how much they did for us :)
Towards the later afternoon, we got to opening the time capsule. Because there are so many "little" kids now, we first made something for the "kids of the kids" to open. The paper confetti in the box might have been the best part to them. It was literally everywhere. Each kid had a little goodie bag to find.
Then Dave opened the envelope. Some predictions were spot on, some were way off and made us laugh.
The prediction was that I would be a teacher...kind of funny that it took me two undergrad degrees to figure the same thing out, wish they would have told me back in 1994. ;)
Here is the whole group that was there....
Back row: Adam Bearup, Dave Peters, Andy Kauffman, Ryan, Tess, Jeff
Middle row: Emery Bearup, Lindsay Bearup, Janine Peters, Barb Robinson, Nicole Kauffman, me, Abbey, Jen, Mem

So fun to make more memories together!!
