A Labor Day weekend that was kind of like an Oreo, the middle was the best part

The beginning wasn't good, the end wasn't good, but the middle part made it all worth it!!

Thursday night we headed up north, and just after 10pm we felt that dreaded vibration, and heard the noise that can only mean one thing - a flat tire. We called Honda Care, and waited for assistance, while watching lightning light up the clouds from a storm that was getting only getting closer. Luckily it was an easy fix, and we were back on the road shortly, only to have it start raining so heavily when we reached the cottage that we could barely see the road and had to navigate a river of water down the front steps to the door. But, by 1am we were finally all tucked in bed, and ready for a long weekend!!

The rest of the weekend was much better - time spent with my grandma and uncle from the east side of the state, a day of game watching and forced relaxation on Saturday as we stayed in from the rain (and amazing wind!), and a trip to Charlevoix on Sunday to check out the waves on Lake Michigan. Taylor and I were sick on Monday, and traffic wasn't fun for Ryan, but we were happy that we got to squeeze in one more summer trip to the lake!

Pictures...
Taylor got lots of attention over the weekend!!

Taylor was fascinated by great-uncle Drake's voice, and loved watching him be a goofball and play with her toys

Taylor "watching" the Michigan football game with daddy :-)

All bundled up and ready for a walk (it was very fall-like!)

Four generations all together! :-D

The three of us... :o)
