Camryn is FOUR!!

This little one

Has grown up so much

In so many ways

And so full of FUN at 4-years-old :)

With Taylor's birthday just a couple months before, Camryn had been counting down until her OWN birthday ever since! She was so excited to be able to put FOUR fingers on her little hand.

She was all dressed up for her princess party here. I think she wore 4 outfits by the time the evening was over.

Camryn wanted to answer her own questions for her "4" blog post, (just like Taylor got to), so here are her answers... in her words:

Favorite color: yellow, because it is a bright color
Favorite movie: Mary Poppins
Favorite TV show: Lion Guard and Doc McStuffins
Favorite part about Toddlerville: celebrating my birthday there :)
Favorite teacher: Miss Jill
Who is your best friend: Harper and Addi
What are some of the names of your friends at Toddlerville: Harper and Colter
Favorite dinner: Eggs and toast
Favorite snack: chocolate chip peanut butter Larabars
Favorite sandwich: peanut butter and jelly (it is really always almond butter ;))
Favorite cereal: Cocoa Krispies
Favorite place to go visit: Mem's lake house
Favorite thing to do outside: I like when I am with mama, daddy, and Taylor, and Lambie and taggie outside, and I like to do everything
Would you rather play inside or outside: kind of inside right now because it is kinda cold
Favorite toy: the Ariel who goes in our tub
Favorite place to go out to eat: Salt n Pepper
Favorite animal: lambs and zebras
Favorite thing to do in the summer: play in the sprinklers
Favorite holiday: Christmas
Anything else you really like: nope

And because I usually include 'dislikes' in my post, here are some answers of things she doesn't care for:

What food do you not like? little cheesy crackers
Is there anything you are scared of? Zootopia
What is something that makes you feel frustrated? when Taylor doesn't share her dresses with me, that makes me mad
Is there anything else you really don't like? no

And....
What do you want to be when you grow up? Princess Ariel

Here are four things we LOVE about Camryn right now...

1. She can be so creative! She has a more artistic side than her big sister (or me!) and it is fun to see that 'right-brained' side come out so much. She loves to dance, and make pretend voices, she has this super cute slow blink that she does when she wants to appear dramatic, and she will fully get into a song with arms and everything when singing in the car. She loves to color, and is a perfectionist almost to a fault. She will have tears and break down when she makes a mistake or goes out of the lines. I am hoping to help her feel more relaxed about this before she starts Kindergarten. :) She really does color beautiful pictures, and uses lots of colors, wanting to make it look as real as possible. Her first ballet class is going well - she loves dressing up for it each week, and really likes when they practice twirling. Although, we are a little surprised that she likes the gymnastics/tumbling half of class better than the ballet! But dressing up makes her feel like a princess, and she loves to pretend to be a princess. :)

2. She will still cuddle. We have this less and less with Taylor, so I am holding onto these moments with Camryn. She will give hugs or kisses anytime, and just likes it best when we are right by her. I also love that she still takes an afternoon nap for the most part, and if we are traveling, sometimes I even get those nap time snuggles with her.

3. Camryn is pretty open to eating a wider variety of food still. She will try my salad and eat veggies off my plate - pretty much if I am eating it, she is curious about it. It also makes me feel a little more accountable to eating good foods in front of her! She has learned good habits about taking a "no thank you" bite from Toddlerville - which I thinks makes her more open to trying things!

4. She has the sweetest giggle, the biggest smile, can still have BIG emotions about things, and while this means she can be really sad and devastated about something that doesn't matter that much, she also has a lot of times of feeling complete JOY and she is just a FUN part of our little family.

Four WISHES for Camryn in the next year....

1. That she starts to pick up on reading a little bit as we look toward her last year of pre-school before starting Kindergarten!! She already seems to want to do what Taylor does when she is reading books!

2. That she starts to be a little more independent...again. Over the last few weeks, we have had a shift with her where she does not like to be alone. Ever. And starts to feel uncertain when I even start to walk out of a room. She has also been going to bed at night with Taylor. In Taylor's full size bed. For the last two weeks. This means that they fall alseep a little later some nights, but so far it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. Maybe we will end up transitioning both their beds into the same room at some point, and have one bedroom become a play room - we shall see! But it does make things a little tough when she is feeling so dependent - curious to see what the rest of her "four" year looks like with this!

3. That she continues to be a HEALTHY kiddo! Her current set of tubes need to come out by December if they don't fall out on their own before then, and we still struggle with ear infections sometimes, so I am hopeful that we can start having less and less issues each year (and that she can do okay without tubes!). We are THANKFUL that she is a very healthy little girl otherwise!

4. Happiness and Joy!! Can't wait to see what fun we have this summer together, and how much she grows!!

Happy 4th Birthday, Camryn Ann!
