Camryn just went down to bed. One of my favorite moments of the day is rocking her before she goes to sleep each night. No phones, no tv, no lights, no distractions...just me and her. And she is just a little round, squishy, snuggly little girl at this stage - a stage which is going by too quickly!
Next week we have Camryn's well-child appointment, and I will be interested to find out how much she weighs. The last two times she was weighed, her weight was plateauing, so I am hopeful that because she is eating better at daycare during the day, that they will say that she continues to be a healthy, growing little girl!
The biggest thing that Camryn has mastered this month is sitting up! She has been doing it for about 2 weeks now - makes her seem like a big girl! It is dangerous though, because Taylor doesn't understand how easily she can tip over, and has problems understanding just how gentle she needs to be with her little sister. One thing we know for sure - Camryn is going to grow up to be a tough little cookie. :o)
Bath time is also a bit more fun now that she can sit up - typically she and Taylor will take a bath together - and when Camryn splashes the water, it sends Taylor into a fit of giggles. :) Sucking on a washcloth is Camryn's favorite thing about bath time.
Turning 6 months old, here's a bit about our littlest girl...
** Sleep is still hit or miss. She is now taking a nap in the evening when we get home from daycare, which seems to help her with sleep at night. Instead of going to bed around 6:30, she can now make it up until about 8 before we put her down. Then she is up 2, 3, sometimes 4 times a night. She actually only got up once one night this week, and that felt so nice. :) On the weekend when we are home, she will take a really good morning, and afternoon nap, and a short one in the evening.
** Wearing size 2 diapers, and 6-9 month clothes - mostly 9 month. I actually spent the morning cleaning out the girls drawers and closet, and switching over to warmer clothes, and for Camryn I moved a lot of her smaller outfits and sleepers out and packed them away - always makes me feel a little sad to think of how fast she is growing!
** Eating every 3-4 hours, also starting solids. We have not been in a rush to move onto that step. Camryn did NOT like rice cereal, but has tolerated oatmeal. I think we are going to try barley next, then start the journey of fruits and veggies!
** Loving things that are crinkly sounding - toys with crinkle spots, plastic bags, wrappers - she is fascinated by it
** Stranger anxiety is becoming more and more present - at daycare her caretakers even say that her demeanor changes when people enter the baby room who aren't typically in there - we know this is normal for her age, and try to just ease her into unfamiliar situations, and for now love on the fact that she really recognizes who her mama and dada are! :o)
** Actually went down with a paci for the first time tonight - she hasn't been a big fan of them so far, so we will see if this is something she picks up like Taylor did (and it took Taylor until she was about 6 months old before she used a paci, too!)
** Becoming much more coordinated with her hands - grabbing toys and passing them between her hands
** Quite the smiley girl, waving her arms up and down when she is excited, laughs and giggles are more frequent now

Happy Half Birthday, Camryn Ann!
